Jesus commissioned in His last words that we are to feed His lambs. At our mission
project we are doing just that, educating the "xiao yangs"(small lambs) of the Bai ethnic minority. Amongst the Bai folks,
the number of people with the surname 'Yang' is like the many Kims in Korea. And 'yang' in Chinese means lamb. Since 2001 we have been doing this strategic project to educate and evangelize the children of the unreached
ethnic minorities. As it is linked to the church there, this aspect of mission empowerment has been very relevant
and far reaching than social projects linked to other government departments where no Christian work is officially permitted.
We have been renting the premise to carry out the work. Our group of ethnic Bai Christians is excited
and committed to what God is doing for their people. Like our Miao Christians who were previously with the underground group,
they have now decided to align themselves with the official Church in Yunnan and will be receiving Biblical teaching, training
and spiritual oversight from the pastors. God is empowering the workers to forcefully advance the Kingdom of God here. In
addition to the official church, there are now 2 more official preaching points for the ethnic Bai Christians where worship
and prayers are being held. The Christians are very clear and excited about their responsibility to preach the Gospel to their
fellowmen. They saw the vision. In fact, when we were not sure whether any support is going to come in for the work, they
told us that even if there were no or little support, they would still work at the center! By faith, they know that if it
is God's work, He will arrange the provision. This children education community project will be a good model for us to use
to penetrate into other unreached ethnic groups! The center will visibly testify to the community the love of God for children
and facilitate the preaching of the Gospel. Now at the first center, we have a total of 60 poor children coming daily! They
will be told the Bible stories, taught to read, write, think, share, draw, color, pray and play. Sometimes meals are provided.
The parents appreciates the service provided for them. The parallel focus for this project is on evangelism. As the local leadership and officials
are very impressed with the project, it gives us to opportunity to boldly share the Gospel of Christ to all there.
The seed of the Gospel is being planted here amongst these unreached minorities and their children and we believe in due season,
it will grow and bear fruits! We like to ask that you respond and partner with us in the work of reaching ethnic children for
Christ. As you share, you will be a part of the harvest, you will be reckon with the salvation of the heathens!
This is a very special and strategic mission project need your financial help urgently;
The
following breakdown are the estimated amount yearly for the project. For rental of the premise for one year, educational and teaching
materials and supporting 5 staff per year, we need a total of 28,000 yuans, which is approximately S$5,800.
We
need your help to carry out next year's work. Your prayers and immediate response is
greatly coveted. As you give with whatever you can, we will give you a regular update and report of the status of the work. Your
participation in the project will empower the local ethnic missionaries, supporting them to do the work of God at the frontiers
where we cannot go, do not have the stomach and the cultural lifestyle to stay.

Note: Bai ethnic group has been known
to hard to reach and have very low Christian population. For many years, evangelistic efforts mounted towards reaching the
Bai group has been great but results were very, very slow coming. They are rather enterprising and hardworking. Their special
product is the traditional tie and dye textile using color dye from natural plant. Bai ethnic group has been known for their
very well kept culture of singing, dancing and performing. Almost every time a mission group comes with me to Yunnan, I would
bring them to watch the ethnic Bai Cultural Dance show at an original Bai village house. They never cease to fascinate the
team with their "Pinch the Bride" Dance and their 3 Course Tea ceremony. In most places Sunday school is never heard of".
Hence starting a Children education center to teach the Bai children is most appropriate. For the Chinese church, this
is a great lead in the work of God and we felt affirmed to pursue the development of the work. The parents have been asked
to contribute rice and vegetables towards the daily meals. Please pray for the work. Please continue to pray for the salvation
of this Bai ethnic minority group, especially the 10,000 people in this township and those elsewhere.
